The Registrar and Acting Rector of the Maritime Academy of Nigeria, Oron, Mr Mkpandiok A. Mkpandiok has on behalf of his Management, Staff Cadets and Students of the instituiton congratulated the Director General of Nigeria Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Dakuku Peterside over his emergence as the new Chairman of African Maritime Administrators (AAMA) at the third conference of the association.


He described Dr. Dakuku Peterside as a rare breed and dedicated technocrat who is bringing fruition to the Federal Government’s plans for maritime administration in Nigeria.


 Mr. Mkpandiok said Dakuku has so far displayed sincerity of purpose with genuine commitment to probity, transparency and accountability since he assumed the tasking responsibility of administering the country's maritime administration agency, NIMASA.


He further commended his rare leadership style and great administrative acumen, adding that his nomination did not come as a surprise to stakeholders and keen observers in the industry owing to his displayed ingenuity and astuteness in his present position of responsibility.

“Indeed, his performance in NIMASA can best be described as a study in pragmatism, he has infused discipline in the running of the agency's activities” he noted.


While pledging MAN, Oron Management's unflinching support, he expressed optimism that the NIMASA Boss will leave giant prints in his additional responsibility, and called for cooperation from all to enable him move the maritime industry to enviable heights.


It is pertinent to state that the NIMASA Helmsman since assumption of office has demonstrated his desire to also make the nation’s premier maritime training institution a success story.
