A high-powered delegation comprising the Registrar, Mr. M.A. Mkpandiok and 14 other Management Staff (Directors and Heads of Departments) visited  the family home of their fallen Acting Rector, Dr. (Engr.) Anthony Anayo Ishiodu, on Wednesday
Welcoming the delegation, the brother of the deceased, Mr. Okwosha Barry, on behalf of the immediate and extended families thanked Management for finding time to make the trip to Egwe Community in Oguta, Imo State.
He commended the display of love,  respect and concern shown by the Academy and thereafter unveiled the family’s plan towards ensuring a befitting burial ceremony, as well as pleaded with Management to stand by the family in giving this great Oguta son a final farewell.
Responding, the Registrar, Mr. M. A. Mkpandiok encouraged the family to continue to anchor their faith and trust in God who can never fail.
He lamented the fate which befell the Academy of late, losing two Rectors within the short span of just eight months, and promised that Management will approach the burial in the best possible manner and in keeping with Extant Laws (Public Service Rules).
He also informed members of the family that in recognition of the fact that the late Acting Rector was a respectable member of the Catholic Church, and of the time constraint, Management has constituted a Committee to work out the burial modalities in liaison with the family.
He noted that as friends and colleagues of late Dr. Anthony Ishiodu who hold a human face and are quite aware of the challenges confronting the family, we will do our best.
The Registrar concluded his brief address by calling on all present to rise in observation of a minute’s silence in honour of the late Ag. Rector.
